The UBC Master of Data Science curriculum covers all stages of this chain, providing you with skills to focus on the “knowledge” section. Over 10 months, you will learn how to extract data for use in experiments, how to apply state-of-the-art techniques in data analysis and how to present extracted knowledge effectively to domain experts.

The new UBC Master of Data Science is a professional program developed by the combined expertise of the UBC departments of Computer Science and Statistics to help meet this need and give students a fast track to a great career.
Utilizing descriptive and prescriptive techniques, students extract and analyze data from both unstructured and structured forms and then communicate the findings of those analyses in ways to enable organizations to make informed decisions based on data.
This combined program is a clinical specialty program that allows students to complete the MSc in Craniofacial Science combined with clinical specialty preparation through the Diploma in Endodontics. The program provides education and training for potential clinicians, research workers, and teachers. Completion of the program requires successful completion of the clinical and didactic requirements associated with the diploma program in the Faculty of Dentistry, successful completion of the MSc in Craniofacial Science course requirements, and successful defense and submission of an 18-credit research thesis to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. In this program option, the degree and diploma are awarded conjointly and both must be completed to graduate. Graduates will be eligible to take the examinations for specialty certification in endodontics of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and the American Board of Endodontics. The normal course of study is three full academic years.
This combined program is a clinical specialty program providing education and training for clinicians, researchers and teachers. Achievement of the Diploma in Orthodontics requires successful completion of the clinical and didactic requirements associated with the diploma program in the Faculty of Dentistry, successful completion of the MSc in Craniofacial Science course requirements, and successful defense and submission of the thesis to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. In this program option, the degree and the diploma are awarded conjointly and both must be completed to graduate. Graduates will be eligible to take the examinations for specialty certification in orthodontics offered by the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and the American Board of Orthodontics. Normal course of study is 38 months.

The student will divide clinical training between the University of British Columbia Point Grey Campus and BC Children’s Hospital. Achievement of the Diploma in Pediatric Dentistry requires successful completion of the clinical and didactic requirements associated with the diploma program in the Faculty of Dentistry, successful completion of the MSc in Craniofacial Science course requirements, and successful defense and submission of the thesis to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. In this program option, the degree and the diploma are awarded conjointly and both must be completed to graduate. Graduates will be eligible to take the examinations for specialty certification in Pediatric Dentistry of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Normal course of study is three full academic years.
The Faculty of Dentistry, through its Division of Periodontics and Dental Hygiene, offers graduate training in Periodontics as a three-year program aimed at producing clinical specialists with an excellent foundation in clinical, behavioural, and biomedical sciences. Successful graduates receive a Diploma in Periodontics and Master of Science Degree in Craniofacial Science, and are eligible to take the examination for the Fellowship Examination of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) Board Examination.

The MPT/PhD program provides a new option for outstanding students with an interest in both clinical and research training relevant to physical therapy. The MPT/PhD program is designed to provide students flexibility in the completion of their concurrent clinical and research training, and to integrate their clinical and research learning, resulting in an accelerated completion time (approximately 5 years).
Students may choose from two options to complete the MPT/PhD program based on discussion with their research supervisor. Given the emphasis on clinical research in the program, though students may enter the MPT program initially, they will be expected to maintain progress towards their PhD requirements from the outset. Similarly, if students choose to enter the MPT program in Year 3, they would still be expected to maintain PhD progress for the final three years of the Dual Degree program.
